Model employed by Massive Inc - Essay Example It will also help publishers offset the skyrocketing costs of video game development, which can in turn benefit gamers, keeping game prices affordable and opening the door to free game play, free content, tournaments and other possibilities that add realism and entertainment value to the overall game experience. The gamming industry in Australia stretches decades of years back. Over time and again games industry has earned a reputation for quality in a vast wide world market hungry for the new content. The government on the other hand has been very supportive by realising that digital games create growth and generate jobs for many people including developers, hardware manufacturers, publishers and retailers, it has resorted to developing a large and thriving 'high-tech' sector by funding strategies through providing Sony PlayStation 2 and Xbox Development Kits to local companies that would usually not be able to afford them and grab a bigger share of the market. This has been promulgated funding local game content through Film Victoria's Digital Media Fund. In a nut shell the Australian games industry is made up of over 40 companies employing more developers. 2The amalgamation encompassing local branches of large international publishers, established larger local companies, plus smaller and newer companies that only have a few employees is also a monumental key driver in the Australian game industry since three quarters of these companies are in the business of developing games. A growing number of tertiary institutions that offer Diploma and Degree courses in games development are meant to create a bridge in the technical expertise in the gaming industry by focussing and teaching strictly on the design aspects of games while others take an IT and programming-based approach. Potential Vulnerability. The worst anathema facing games industry, according to trade body the Interactive Entertainment Alliance of Australia (IEAA), is piracy. Which represents 15 of the top game platform holders and publishers, including Electronic Arts, Vivendi, Sony Computer entertainment, Nintendo and recent joinee Nokia Research commissioned by the IEAA in 2002, estimated the cost of piracy at $100million a colossal figure that was growing with the economy. The widespread availability and low cost of CD burners had clearly facilitated the growth of these sources of pirated product, the IEAA claims. The impact of computer markets on the games retail channel varied across Australia, according to retailers contacted by. One publisher that confirmed it would ship unclassified games to Australia is running with Scissors, a small US game publisher whose game Postal was banned in Australia in 1997. Any local publishers did not pick up the sequel, Postal 2, and thus it was not submitted for a rating through t he OFLC. Tim Burton Analytical Essay Example for Free
Tim Burton Analytical Essay The dark lighting showed Edwards loneliness, however, the bright lighting of the town and Pegs house showed how he was able to create a relationship with the towns people, which he was unable to do previously in the tower. In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Wonka did not have a good relationship with his father, so the flashbacks of his childhood are in a darker light. The dark lighting in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Edward Scissorhands stresses the importance of relationships. In accordance with dark lighting, Burton also uses contrasting sets exemplify the mportance of relationships. In Big Fish, when Edward Bloom unexpectedly arrives in Spectre for the first time, the town is green and lush with vegetation, and the townspeople are happy and worry free. While he was in Spectre, he promised a little girl he would return. However when he returned after many years, the town was barren and businesses were closed. This contrasting set shows he was not there for the town when they needed him; therefore the town was barren when he returned for the second time. In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Wonka creates an amazing hocolate factory to substitute the happiness of having a good relationship with his father. Contrastingly, Charlies house may not be as extravagant as the factory, but Charlie has a loving family. The opposing sets between the factory and Charlies home shows the importance of relationships. In Big Fish and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, contrasting sets show the importance of relationships Moreover, the use of close ups exemplifies the importance of relationships. In Big Fish, when Edward Bloom is lying in the hospital bed, and Will Bloom, Edwards son, inished the story of his fathers fantasy death, there is a close up of Wills face. Will knows his father is going to die and that all of the tall tales that his father told were true. The close up shows that if Will had trusted his father, they would have a better relationship. In Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, whenever the conversation of parents began, Wonka would act uncomfortable. From afar the viewer does not see the sadness, but the close up shows the sadness in his eyes. Wonka is sad he does not have a good relationship with his father, therefore the close up shows that elationships are important. In Big Fish and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the close ups of the characters show the importance of relationships. Burton has a passion for making movies, and he puts all of his effort into creating extravagant sets and costumes in his movies. As seen in Big Fish, Edward Scissorhands, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Burton creates personal messages to convey his inner feelings. The Internet and the Catholic Church Essay -- Exploratory Essays Resea
This essay addresses the question: Does more harm than good come from the internet? And the answer is sought from the largest Christian denomination (one billion members) - the Catholic Church. There is no condemnation of the internet by this church body; rather the Vatican, official voice of the Catholic Church, maintains that the internet is "not a threat"(Church). Calling the Internet an opportunity and a challenge and not a threat, the Vatican issued two documents encouraging the church to embrace the technology and help guide it to benefit all humanity. The documents said the Internet's interactive nature could help the church achieve the vision of communication between its members, moving away from the one-way, top-down communication of the past. Among practical responses to potential ethical and social problems related to the Internet, the documents recommended more industry self-regulation, a voluntary church "certification" of sites that call themselves Catholic, and careful supervision of children's Web surfing(Ethics). The two 27-page documents, "Ethics in Internet" -- a reflection on ethical issues -- and "The Church and Internet" -- an assessment of online pastoral opportunities -- were released at a Vatican press conference. The documents were prepared by the Pontifical Council for Social Communications. Russell Shaw, a U.S. journalist who serves on the council, headed the drafting process. The Internet ethics document emphasized the technology's tremendous power and opportunities, saying it could help bring together every person on the planet in a "world governed by justice and peace and love"(Ethics) "Today it takes no great stretch of the imagination to e... ... Internet than their elders, it said good parenting might require adults to improve their Internet fluency. The fundamental parental duty here is to help children become discriminating, responsible Internet users and not addicts of the Internet, neglecting contact with their peers and with nature itself. It recommended that parents install filtering technology in computers that are available to children "to protect them as much as possible from pornography, sexual predators and other threats"(Church). And Still We Rise – Essay
If you had different hardships in your life would you be a different person? The answer is most likely yes. A personââ¬â¢s character is based upon the experiences they have been through. ââ¬Å"Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant,â⬠ââ¬âHorace. In ââ¬Å"And Still We Riseâ⬠by Miles Corwin, Corwin shares the lives of inner city kids who still strive to succeed and go to college although the circumstances they are dealt with have told them otherwise. Some of the kids that dealt with bad hands were Toya, Olivia, and Willie. The struggles that they went through are impetuous. Growing up, Toya never knew her biological father. Instead she lived with her mom and stepfather. Toya would often see the two arguing and eventually it came to her stepfather beating her mother up on his drinking binges. Finally her mother getting so tired of this abuse grabbed her two daughters and took shelter. Although, once Toyaââ¬â¢s mother could not afford the nightly shelter fee she arranged for her girls and herself to stay with a friend. When she went home one day to get the girlsââ¬â¢ clothes her husband strangled her to death. Toya walked in the bathroom to find her mother dead on the floor. After the murder of her mother, Toya and her sister were sent to a group home and later to their auntââ¬â¢s house. Toya was sexually abused by her stepfather who had a huge effect on her. She later became pregnant and gave birth to a boy during her junior year. This ruined a lot for her in school. She was now going to study at home, return to high school the next year and attend college. ââ¬Å"I didnââ¬â¢t have time to think about tomorrow. I had to survive today,â⬠(47). Her plans were completely ruined when both her aunt and cousin kicked her out. She could not graduate from high school but instead got her GED and will attend college with the help of her church. Like Toya, Willieââ¬â¢s parents were divorced. Willie lived with his mother and siblings until she was arrested. His mother had an addiction to cocaine and often left her children home for long periods of time. They were then separated into several different houses never to live with together again. Willie ended up living with his dad who was constantly working. He strived in school because he didnââ¬â¢t want to end up like his parents. One afternoon Willie saw his mother passed out in a yard in the neighborhood. When things went wrong, all Willie could do was cry and be sad because he really had no one to turn to. Later in the year, Willie became homecoming king which symbolized to him that he did not let the past reflect the way he would end up. ââ¬Å"Being named homecoming king was a powerful symbol to him that his past had not defined him nor deterred him from success,â⬠(244). He finished high school and later went to Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia for business. Willie did not let what his mother did or the lack of authority affect his success in going to college and quitting the cycle of his parents. From the beatings her mother gave her to going AWOL after hating foster homes, Oliviaââ¬â¢s life was far from perfect. When Olivia was a teenager she was a ward of the county, hopping from one group home to another. Other girls would steal her clothes and chase her around with a hot iron. She went AWOL shortly after that, living in her own apartment, having a crazy work schedule, that was just her life. Whenever she had financial issues she would return to her social worker and yet again be put into a foster home. One time she went AWOL though and couldnââ¬â¢t afford rent anymore, she was going to drop out of high school, when her counselor, Braxton, convinced her otherwise. ââ¬Å"I donââ¬â¢t think God make you do good, or the devil makes you do evil. In the end itââ¬â¢s up to you,â⬠Olivia said one day in English class (Corwin 43). Unfortunately, Olivia didnââ¬â¢t always make the right choices. She was caught forging a check, but because she does not have any parents she was sent to jail to serve time. This all happened during Oliviaââ¬â¢s senior year so she couldnââ¬â¢t take her AP exam but was allowed to finish high school. She was released from jail in time for college and went. She is now doing extremely well and helping kids in group homes every Saturday morning. Through hard times, good times will shine through. These kids were given such difficult lives and it was their decision to do what that wanted with their lives. It is a lot harder to succeed when you have so much hate around you, but a lot of these students decided to persevere and make a better life for themselves. ââ¬Å"Remember the past. Cherish the present. Conquer the future,â⬠(398). Those were the encouraging words of Danielle, who was the valedictorian, during graduation. If everyone could just remember that saying, it would be a better world and all those hard trials would all be worth it.

If more people seek treatment instead of holding all their problems inside it may cause more people to overcome the effects. Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "The History of Depression and its Effect" essay for you Create order Depression is a disorder that affects how you feel, think, and handle daily situations, this also involves sleeping, eating, or working. According to the National Institution of Mental Health there are six types of Depression in America. Depression can affect anyone at any age and causes for the symptoms vary, many may have the symptom because of the genetics or because of mood regulation. One of the common types of depression is Seasonal Depression. According to this type of depression the person is affected by the seasonal change, this occurs mostly during autumn which eventually ends after winter. There are many ways to know if someone has depression and theyre emotional symptoms such as extreme irritability, anxiety, anger management, loss of interest in activities, fixation on the past, and thoughts of suicide. Depression can also have physical symptoms such as insomnia, weight gain or loss, difficulty thinking, and unexplained body aches. Given these points there isnt one cause for depression, genetics and brain chemistry all play a role. Although many can use antidepressants some have been successful for some people, but for others some may have side effects that may to suicidal attempts. The earliest accounts of depression were discussed to be as spiritual/mental state rather than physical and others thought of it as a demonic possession because the priest dealt with it rather than physicians. Throughout the years many doctors have considered it to be a biological or phycological illness. The biggest problem about depression is the fact that the illness can develop at any age, some children may experience something that causes the illness to go into effect. The second problem about the disorder is that it increases the outcome of for long term illnesses and co-occurs with the illness causing the patient to experience more pain. The depressive disorder is the lead cause of disability in the U.S. from people by the ages of 15 to 44. The suicide rate for older adults is more than fifteen percent higher than the rate for the nation as a whole. The main cause for that rate to be so high is because most youth who have the symptom are not treated mainly because they stay qu iet about the way they feel which leads to frequent self-injury or suicide. When things involve difficult situations, they will mostly likely lead the person to be sad, but these reactions are normal and are a part of life, most individuals are going to feel low sometimes. However, there are other individuals who have the disorder, therefore it causes the low mood to be more severe and occur more often. Studies show that the depressive disorder occurs more often in women than men. Men have been shown to be more reckless with their behavior and abuse on drugs, also most older men fail to seek help because of their stubbornness. Women tend to show more sadness, guilt, and worthlessness, women who become also experience postpartum depression which involves symptoms such as mood swings, sadness, and fatigue, but they usually pass within two weeks. If the symptoms continue to persist for more than two weeks, then it is a sign for a major depressive order. These symptoms will likely persist if the mother is stressing over the pressure of raising a newborn baby. Al though depression is one of the major disorders in America but, Anxiety Disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S. that is affecting forty-million men. Furthermore, the feeling of being anxious or nervous when you are stuck in a horrible situation, its normal. Anxiety Disorders are different because they are a group of personal mental illnesses that cause a huge amount of distress leading you to function negatively in life. One of the first types of Anxiety disorders are panic disorder, this disorder makes you feel that youre having a panic attack, this leads to chest pains and the feeling of being choked. Social Phobia is a feeling of being overwhelmed, it also makes the patient fixate about being judged, embarrassed or ridiculed. In my opinion specific phobia affects the patient greatly because you feel fear towards certain situations or objects. This type of fear causes people to avoid a lot of situations that involve heights, flying or public speaking. These forms of mental illnesses are a combination of meaning things such as environmental stress or it may be in your genes, the disorder can run in families. Some people believe that Depressive Disorder is fake because the word depressed is thrown around too many times by teens or adults because of a bad day. The people who claim to be depressed for a day or two tear the meaning of the word leading to more people who stay quiet about their problem. There a lot of celebrities who have been known to always look happy, no would ever think they were suffering from depression. Take Robin Williams for example, he was rich, and he was famous, why was he depressed? No one will ever know but, if we want more people to be open about their problems and receive help suicides continue to will occur. Most of the celebrities who have been known to always be happy or smiling had major depressive disorder. Most of these famous people that we look up to show you that being rich and having expensive cars will make you happy forever and its false because some of them still fixate on things from their past or abuse on drugs. The worst thing that could happen to the person is if they are told theyre attention seeking after they had the courage to open-up about their personal problems. This leads the person to more drugs and eventually pushing all their loved ones away because of the fear of being denied or being told to get over it. Another factor that goes into effect is that because of the illness many eventually isolate themselves, friends usually stop reaching out because you are distant which causes you to do the same, as a result it creates a vicious cycle. Although there are ways to overcome this disorder, some will need support from family or friends by simply being there. When the disorder involves drug abuse the person must want to change to be able to receive help. Mac Miller has recently passed away because of his drug abuse and depressive disorder, I believe that he was trying to use the drugs to escape from his pain, which have been most cases involving teens or young adults. Being aware and understanding the statistics of depression could increase more awareness about mental health. Recognizing how widespread the illness is reducing the stigma that surrounds depression making people view it as a weakness, although physical issues can be developed by anyone, mental illnesses are not always preventable. The anxiety disorder can come from genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and life events. This disorder leads to depression after the disorder becomes worse over time. Anxiety causes frequent feelings of terror, once it gets worse the patient cant concentrate. Once the first stages of the disorder start it transitions to panic attacks that over time may lead to chest pains and dizziness. These symptoms continue to spread creating more problems for the body. Once these symptoms start effecting the mind stress starts to damage the body and mental state simultaneously, this involves multiple systems. The effected systems are the patients metabolism that may cause the person to lose too much weight or gain too much, and their memory. However, stress solves short term problems to help a person concentrate in difficult situations. A stressful experience in any situation will take the persons sense of control away and making them feel hopelessness. Negatively, the event that made the patient have a sense of panic can also be activated from a positive situation, such as having your first child or interviewing for an important job. Social interactions can also trigger depression leading to poor interpersonal skills. Most patients with the disorder experienced trauma during childhood that changes to a form of stress later in adulthood. Traumatic experiences can also lead to PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), when developed they repeatedly have nightmares of the traumatic experience, this causes insomnia and numbness to any situation. Disorders like these that correlate with depression affect the person permanently unless treated daily. Bullying can also have a long-term effect on a person, being bullied will make the person suffer from emotional problems. Although this subject does not have anything to do with the history of depression, it correlates with it because bullying will affect people by making them more emotional and suicidal unless stopped. Being bullied during adolescent years will most likely take a toll on their well being, these involve avoiding social interactions because of the fear of not being accepted and loss or gaining of weight. After bullied constantly the child will most likely start to miss more school and build up more stress just by the thought of going to school again to be bullied again. The anxiety from the situation will most likely continue until adulthood resulting to poor relationships, poor communication skills and negative thoughts. Everyone is going to be in some situation that is affecting them emotionally and mentally. Being aware of these problems will not only help a single person by stopping long-term psychological effects, it will save many. Happiness comes from within and by sharing positivity and love, more will strive to live better than the day before. The awareness of this can help, especially with most teens that are likely to ignore help or become distant from parents who dont understand their problems.

Guns The Root Of All Violence - Free Essay Example
Sample details Pages: 6 Words: 1808 Downloads: 4 Date added: 2019/03/20 Category Society Essay Level High school Tags: Gun Violence Essay Did you like this example? Gun violence has aroused disputable controversies, both about the causes and solutions surrounding firearms. As time has progressed, the occurrence of mass shootings have become a dominant topic in the media, resulting in the question: should we outlaw guns? The second amendment, created in 1789, vocalizes mans right to bear arms. However, the escalating deaths originating from firearms displays the irreversible impacts these weapons have. Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Guns: The Root Of All Violence?" essay for you Create order Prominent examples include the Sandy Hook, Pulse Nightclub, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, and the Texas Church Shootings, all occurring within a ten year time period. The definition of a mass shooting described by the FBI is an incident where four or more people are wounded or killed, the United States holding one third of these events. The Brady Bill, implemented in 1993 became a large stepping stone for gun control, leading to 976,000 denials of licenses in 2003. While some people argue that mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and societal illness like toxic masculinity contribute to the detrimental effects of gun violence, others argue that mental illnesses do not contribute to the effects of gun violence; possible solutions to correct this issue would be extensive background checks and the ban of bumper stocks. Mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and problematic stigmas surrounding the definition of masculinity, consisting of the glorification of violence and hostile behavior, contribute to gun violence. People with mental illnesses are a hazard to the public, as 60% of perpetrators of mass shootings in the United States since 1970 displayed symptoms including acute paranoia, delusions, and depression before committing their crimes (Ruddell). The 60% of those who possessed a mental illness had access to firearms, allowing the tragic deaths of children, mothers, and innocent bystanders to occur. Patients with spontaneous and aggressive impulses should not have access to hazardous weapons, since one consequence could be communities that are haunted with gruesome memories of the casualties. Those with mental illnesses should be restricted from accessing firearms due to their unawareness of wrong and right, potentially leading to permanent misfortunes. Specific mental illnesses in conjunctio n with fatal weapons jeopardize the safety of communities and lead to destruction, all of which are easily preventable with meticulous background checks. Additionally, toxic masculinity has contributed to gun violence. Many boys from a young age are bombarded with the constant exposure of gore and violence, induced by brutal video games, inappropriate toys, and war. Many are expected to push aside their natural instinct of fear and face grave conditions with a brave face. If they falter, they would be perceived as fragile and unworthy of the title as a man. Myritten states, men with weapons have the power, men are often expected by tradition to be either warriors and/or protectors, and failure to live up to these expectations leads to violence. Society assumes that dominance is tethered to the perfect image of a man, as boys from a young age have been embedded with the expectation to obtain leadership positions. If the expectations of a man are not fulfilled, these consisting of bei ng emotionless, courageous, and the breadwinners of the household, they are considered less of a one. The perpetual cycle that men encounter because of societys suffocating guidelines of what actions men are allowed to perform, contribute to mens desensitization of violence. The cycle that was forged on boys by society at a tender age causes men to become bound to their accustomed habits of normalizing war and violence. Mental illnesses such a schizophrenia and destructive social stigmas are one of the causes for gun violence. The notion that mental illnesses are the cause of gun violence largely categorizes a vast number of people as unstable, ruthless characters. The media is one of the culprits, as they frame those with mental illnesses to be belligerent patients. Siegel displays the influence social media has, as news stories describing acts of gun violence by persons with SMI (Severe mental illnesses) may exacerbate negative attitudes about an already stigmatized population. The phrase mental illness already holds a negative connotation and is a topic that is often submerged. Often, the media depicts those suffering from mental illnesses as corrupt citizens, resulting in the sway of public opinion to restrict firearms from patients instead of banning the weapons themselves. Large social media platforms do not specify each condition such a paranoia, schizophrenia, severe depression and anxiety. Instead, the media largely categorizes a vast, diverse population to depict a stereotypical hostile individua l. Additionally, civilians with the intent to harm others are difficult to detect as we lack tools capable of accurately identifying persons with SMI (severe mental illnesses) who are at heightened risk of committing future violence (McGinty). The media sheds an unflattering light on those with mental illnesses and presents them all as dangerous criminals; however, these mental illnesses are difficult to read and examine. Mental illness is a complex subject and has varying causes, the inaccuracy exhibited by social media to group them all in the same category displays ignorance. Although research has shown that those with mental illnesses have attributed to gun violence, detecting and predicting a pattern in patients is difficult. There is not a specific guideline or rubric to follow when one is attempting to predict a patients intent to proceed with a mass shooting. Therefore, mental illnesses do not contribute to gun violence and its attention should be refocused to banning guns a s a whole. Extensive background checks should be continued, eliminating the mentally ill from retrieving these firearms. Rigorous checks should be implemented instead of hasty glances at a candidates background. Research has shown a positive impact involving how background check rates are associated withsignificant decreases in the rate of gun accidents, and insignificant increases in firearm suicide (Friedman). The data shown enforces that background checks have decreased the rate of gun activity, concluding that the mentally ill should be restricted from retrieving weapons. Communities would transform into safer atmospheres, void of criminal activity and gruesome scenes of murders. The rate of activity would continue to drop if extensive checkups were placed along with routine monthly checks. If suspicious activity is found or reported, authoritative figures could delve into the situation and resolve the problem. As a result, the candidate would become cleared or have their gun privileges rev oked. Moreover, those with certain mental illnesses are reported to have erratic tendencies and are difficult to restrain. Lang emphasizes the importance of discussion involving mental illnesses as there was a link with aggressiveness and those possessing a mental illness, as those with schizophrenia, major depression, or bipolar disorder â⬠were two to three times as likely as people without such an illness to be assaultive. The author does not generalize the entire population of those with mental illnesses, but specifies those that have the potential to be harmful. The rate of aggressiveness stemming from those with specific mental illnesses provides a statistical view as to how they could wreak havoc on communities. Disorders such as schizophrenia and depression retain sporadic impulses that can increase aggressiveness, leading to violence. The startling probability that those with mental illnesses are two to three times more likely to perform assaults should be alarming and cause a response for action. If in depth background checks were practiced, candidates that raised warning signals would promptly be denied. Extensive background checks would be a safety precaution to eliminate impulsive, unfit candidates. Countless lives could be saved if frequent background checks are installed. A bumper stock is an accessory that enables consumers to fire bullets faster, shortening the time it takes for a gun to recoil after a shot is fired. These attachments should be banned to decrease the number of potential bullets fired from those suffering from mental illnesses and those without. The accessory should not be permitted, as it transforms a regular firearm to a perilous automatic weapon used in war. Many influential figures have spoken, one being Bill Flores as he expressed theres no reason for a typical gun owner to own anything that converts a semi-automatic to something that behaves like an automatic (Elis). The representative of Texas, a republican state, has contradicted the routine view of guns. Bill Flores, a credible source and a representative of a pro firearm state displays the problematic impacts of firearms. The disasters that have been afflicted by bumper stocks outweighs what might be described as the benefits of these accessories. The conversion of firing a few to hundreds of bullets in minutes is a dramatic and alarming change. The action should be prohibited, as many citizens, including those with mental illnesses could abuse its ability. Hunters have excused the casualties caused by bumper stocks by describing the enjoyment of ruthlessly hunting animals using the accessory. Hunting meek innocent animals compared to the anarchy that guns have caused in the United States displays Americans absurd priorities. Bumper stocks have been the cause of tragedies in the United States have included the use of bumper stocks, one being the gunman who killed 59 people at a Las Vegas concert Sunday (Bolton). The Las Vegas mass shooting is the most detrimental event in United States history involving guns. The heightened impact of bumper stocks is displayed in this instance, as the accessory was abused for malicious intent. Stephen Paddock, the perpetrator, was documented using the a bumper stock that accelerates the recoiling of a gun. Easily, Pad dock fired hundreds of bullets into what was once a peaceful crowd. By banning bumper stocks, a dramatic decline in the death tolls involving gun activities would occur. This would result in safer environments for future generations to enjoy, without the lurking threats of mass shootings in unexpected settings. Firearms should be regulated due to its irreversible impacts on American citizens and U.S. history. These weapons of war have subjected our children, friends, and loved ones in a constant state of unexpected peril. Families fear to send their children to school, in hopes that they safely return without a bullet wound. A lack of gun education, background checks, and stricter firearm laws have made locations such as churches, schools, and the movie theaters targets for horrific massacres. Firearms are the culprit for the robbing of thousands of innocent lives every year and the need to banish these weapons become more and more apparent. The United States has confronted traumatic experiences due to firearms, as these weapons have imprinted images of bloodshed in citizens minds. If these weapons were abolished or regulated strictly, the United States could have the opportunity to reconcile and heal from the countless lives lost. News broadcasting another mournful mass shooting would beco me nonexistent to upcoming generations contrasting to how citizens today have been desensitized because of its frequency. If these weapons were banned or closely regulated, a state of harmony could be reached due to the silencing the sound of bullets, the cries of innocent victims, and the protests of the concerned.
